Why am I being charged another fee to complete a new background screen with correct personal information?

As noted during the registration process, USA Basketball requires all applicants to enter their full name and date of birth as it appears on legal documentation.

If your background screen was completed without your legal name, for example with your middle initial, missing a suffix such as Jr. or II, or entering the incorrect date of birth, etc., a new screening will be required to meet our safety standards. Please note, this error will require you to cover the cost of a new screening in addition to any access fees that may be required.
